Minyard new Chief of Engineering and Construction Div., for Corps of Engineers

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Jan. 26, 2007 – Tom Minyard has been selected as the Chief of the Engineering and Construction Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District.

An Indianola, Miss., native, Minyard has worked for the Corps of Engineers for more than 23 years
in six states for five districts, including 15 years in Vicksburg, Miss. Most recently he served as the
Area Engineer for Fort Stewart, Ga., in the Savannah District.

In his new position Minyard is responsible for investigations, studies, designs, engineering during
construction and construction management for a wide range of projects relating to flood control,
navigation, emergency preparedness, and environmental stewardship in the six-state area within the
Memphis District.

Minyard received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1980 from Mississippi State
University and his master’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1988 from Mississippi State University.
