LA-RFO contractor team wins company award for
Katrina-Rita emergency
By Dave Harris, public
affairs specialist, Louisiana Recovery Field Office
A
small group of private contracting specialists at the Louisiana
Recovery Field Office have received their company’s prestigious Team
Eagle Award for “hurricane recovery and future protection supporting
Army Corps of Engineers acquisition and contracting” actions focused
on “recovery, rebuilding and sustainment in the wake of Hurricanes
Katrina and Rita.”
The
award by CACI, Inc., named the following team members: Norm Hensley,
program manager; Judy A. Anderson; Mario Carrete; Kevin J. Drummond;
Mary C. Dumas; Calvin E. Durgin; Edward J. Gilmore; Karen Golden;
Carl Jones; Jon P. Tudor; and Robert E. Watts.
In
commending CACI’s essential contract support team, Mike Smith, the
Corps’ assistant director, Louisiana Recovery Field Office, said,
“You are a very talented, dedicated group. You not only make a
great team, but you are also an integral part of our team. You have
gone to the mat for us, many times over, in an effort to make us all
shine. My sincere appreciation and my congratulations for this
recognition go out to all of you.”
“Without these folks, accomplishment of my job would have not been
possible,” added Jean Todd, Chief, Contracting Division for LA-RFO
and Memphis District. “They are highly skilled individuals whom I
rely upon totally for the execution of our contracting effort.”
The
LA-RFO is involved in a highly visible, successful effort, project
manager Hensley said. “CACI’s team of contract specialists - each
with significant civil service or military experience – is able to
work well together as a team both among themselves and with the
government team.
“A
vital factor in keeping such a team together is the respect given to
it by the LA-RFO. Being receptive to personal needs of
individuals on extended temporary duty, including the group
activities, and taking the time to write the individual and group
kudos that led to the Team Eagle award are factors that encourage
people to stay and to give their best every day.”
