Corps of Engineers announces information number for Hurricane Ivan recovery effort

Published Sept. 20, 2004
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 20, 2004 – Contractors who wish to be part of the Hurricane Ivan recovery
effort now have a central contact point for information.

Large disaster recovery missions often generate a high volume of inquiries from the public about
how they can work on the disaster. This is particularly true of a debris removal mission following a
hurricane like Ivan.

According to the Corps’ South Atlantic Division Office, “Phillips and Jordan is the prime
contractor for all debris (removal) missions in the Southeast. They maintain a 24-hour line … and have
agreed that we can refer calls to that number.”

The number is:
(813) 783-1132
