Bailey Hunt receives Commander’s Award

Real Estate Review Appraiser Bailey Hunt received the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, Sept. 9, for work he performed for the Memphis District from May 2018 through September 2019. District Commander Col. Zachary Miller presented the award in his office, with Hunt’s Real Estate coworkers in attendance.

The commendation accompanying the medal states in part, “Mr. Hunt’s dedicated leadership, persistent hard work, and technical expertise in the field of appraisal resulted in success of the District’s Real Estate Acquisition Mission. He greatly improved the turn-around time for review of contractor prepared appraisals, thereby enabling the negotiators to engage the landowners, and managed the inventory appraisals in the queue with the Contracting Officer’s Representative. Bailey is an asset to not only the Real Estate Community but also the Memphis District for his organizational excellence by example of our business processes, teamwork, and leadership.”

Hunt will soon be returning to work in the private sector. He expressed what a joy his time with the Corps of Engineers has been, and said he will miss working with the District’s Real Estate team.
