Corps to hold informational meeting on floodway claims process

MEMPHIS, Tenn., JUNE 1, 2011 – Officials from the Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers will hold an informational meeting Thursday evening in East Prairie, Mo., to discuss the
claims filing process for Birds Point-New Madrid Floodway residents and property owners. The Corps’
Memphis District Commander, Col. Vernie Reichling, and leaders from the District’s Real Estate
Division and Office of Counsel will explain the process and be available to answer questions.

“This meeting will be about getting the word out to landowners in the Floodway, what the
process is and what information they will need to complete the filing process,” Col. Reichling said.
