Czech delegation coming to learn about flooding

MEMPHIS, Tenn., February 15, 2008 – Mr. Jan Papez, president of the Czech Flood Protection
Association, will be the featured speaker at a meeting of the Society of American Military Engineers at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 21, at the Spaghetti Warehouse, 40 W. Hulling, Memphis. The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is also sponsoring his appearance at the luncheon, in conjunction with National Engineers Week. Papez will address his experience of developing flood plans and providing protection against floods in the Czech Republic.

Papez heads a delegation of officials from his nation who will visit here to learn how the Midsouth
manages flood risk and fights floods.
