Corps of Engineers to hold meeting in Millington on Big Creek

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 3, 2004 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will
hold a public “scoping” meeting Feb. 12 for the Millington and Vicinity, Tennessee Study. The
meeting will be held at the Baker Community Center, 7942 Church Street in Millington, and will
begin at 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to solicit input from agencies, organizations and individuals
early in the planning phase of the study. This allows for comments and concerns to be addressed
during the environmental assessment process and the feasibility study.

The study is being conducted to analyze problems being experienced in the Big Creek
drainage basin and to evaluate alternatives to provide plans for flood and erosion control,
environmental protection and restoration, improved water quality and recreational quality of life
features.
