    MVM 2028 Initiatives: District team working to prevent electrical accidents

    With its 2028 Initiatives, the Memphis District is identifying and aggressively pursuing a range of innovative measures to equip it with the tools, training, and resources that enable it to deliver increasing value to the region and nation. One such initiative is its new Arc Flash Evaluation Project. The District has trained and resourced a team of arc flash analysis experts with the goal preventing electrical accidents at Corps facilities and sites.

    MVM 2028 Initiatives: Faster projects, under budget

    The Memphis District has embarked on a bold initiative to revolutionize its processes for delivering projects and engineering solutions. The initiative is called MVM 2028 and its vision is for the District to “bring value to every local, regional, and national interaction as the one stop shop for a full suite of project management, engineering and other technical services.” One way the District plans to bring value is through its ongoing efforts to deliver projects faster and under budget. The District’s interdisciplinary project delivery teams—consisting of engineers, project managers, program analysts, and others—are seeking to gain maximum benefit from the functions and capabilities of Primavera project management software. They recently teamed with the Corps’ Savannah District to complete advanced Primavera training as a means of enhancing their ability to deliver projects faster and under budget.
  • Davidson is the new Memphis District Deputy District Engineer for Programs and Project Management

    Donny D. Davidson, Jr. is the new Memphis District deputy district engineer for programs and project management. He assumed his new role in April, after serving four and a half years as the Engineering and Construction Division chief.

    Memphis District hosts Job Fair

    On March 14, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District held a Job Fair at the America Job Center, 3040 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis. The successful four hour event attracted approximately 50 potential candidates. At the time of the event, the District had 31 open positions listed on USAJobs.gov. Though the event is over, job seekers can still search openings with the district on USAJobs.gov or by going to the district’s website (https://www.mvm.usace.army.mil/) and clicking on the “Jobs” link.
