  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis to host annual “Business Industry Day”

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Memphis District (MVM) will host this year’s annual Business Industry Day at the Renasant Convention Center in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 12:30 until 5 p.m.  Industry Day is a Department of Defense (DoD) Program Management Office (PMO) event held to connect contractors with Memphis District representatives. It also gives the Memphis District the chance to highlight different program areas, build future partnerships, and further ensure its competency and capacity to deliver the mission.
  • Public Meetings scheduled for Mississippi River study

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will host public scoping meetings for the Lower Mississippi River Comprehensive Management Study (LMR Comp) at venues throughout the study area between Feb. 27 and March 11. The LMR Comp is a five-year, $25 million mega-study that will deliver recommendations for effective and practical management of the Mississippi River from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the Gulf of Mexico. Because of the size and scope of the study, active participation and collaboration from the public and stakeholders throughout the five-year endeavor will be critical to identifying practical and sustainable recommendations for successful management of the river. The Memphis District will host and invites the public to the below meetings in their area of responsibility: Tuesday Feb 27: Memphis, Tennessee Wednesday, Feb. 28: Dyersburg, Tennessee Thursday, Mar. 7: Helena, Arkansas The news release includes additional details, times, and location information for each of the above meetings, as well as several more meetings to be hosted outside of the Memphis AOR. The public is invited to attend any and all meetings listed within the release.
  • Mississippi River Commission public meeting notice

    The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its annual inspection trip on the Mississippi River, April 8-12, 2024. The Commission will host meetings for the public in select towns along the Mississippi River, with commission members meeting with local partners, stakeholders, and residents. Committee members will listen to public concerns, ideas, and issues during each meeting. 
  • Army Corps of Engineers announces end of low-water drought in Mississippi Valley Division

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mississippi Valley Division announced today the drought that plagued the Mississippi River basin since 2022 is officially over. Low water conditions began in the region in September 2022.
  • District engineer wins national career achievement award

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Memphis District proudly announces the Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) STEM Conference has selected Operations Division Chief Andrea L. Williams to receive a 2024 Career Achievement Award in recognition of her significant achievements as an engineer for a U.S. Government organization. Williams is the first woman in district history to serve in the operations division chief role. Her oversight of several district assets, including the Dredge Hurley, the Motor Vessel Mississippi, three pumping plants, and several revetment units, demonstrates her exceptional leadership and dedication to the USACE mission.
