  • Mississippi River Commission schedules 411th session to conduct annual low-water inspection trip, public hearings

    The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its 411th low-water inspection trip and public hearings from Aug. 19 – 23 at four locations along the Mississippi River. The meeting dates, times and locations are as follows: August 19: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. New Madrid, Mo. (City Front) August 20: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Memphis, Tenn. (Mud Island River Park) August 21: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Lake Village, Ark. (City Front) August 23: 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Berwick, La. (Garber Brothers Marine)
  • Memphis District adds third dry dock to river maintenance fleet, christens in honor of former employee, U.S. Army veteran

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Memphis District gathered at Ensley Engineer Yard (EEY) April 2 to christen its newest dry dock in honor of Billy Manley, a former employee who served as yards and docks chief for five years until his passing in 2020. Ensley Engineer Yard professionals use dry dock structures approximately 310 days a year to repair and maintain marine vessels belonging to the Memphis District, its sister districts, and partner agencies.

    The Mississippi River Commission will conduct its annual high-water inspection trip on the Mississippi River, April 8-12, 2024.
  • Statement by Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works on the President’s Fiscal Year 2025 Budget

    The Biden-Harris Administration today released the President’s Budget for Fiscal Year 2025. Following historic progress made under the President’s leadership—with over 14 million jobs added since the President took office and inflation down two-thirds from its peak—the Budget protects and builds on this progress with proposals for responsible, pro-growth investments in America and the American people. The President’s Budget will lower costs for the American people, protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare, secure Americans at home and abroad, and reduce the deficit by ensuring the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share.
  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis to host annual “Business Industry Day”

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Memphis District (MVM) will host this year’s annual Business Industry Day at the Renasant Convention Center in downtown Memphis, Tennessee, on Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 12:30 until 5 p.m.  Industry Day is a Department of Defense (DoD) Program Management Office (PMO) event held to connect contractors with Memphis District representatives. It also gives the Memphis District the chance to highlight different program areas, build future partnerships, and further ensure its competency and capacity to deliver the mission.
