  • Corps acts on Reelfoot Spillway permit

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., August 15, 2008 – Following a thorough and comprehensive review, Col. Thomas P. Smith, Commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District, today made a decision to extend to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) a permit for their signature to construct a new spillway on Reelfoot Lake.
  • U.S. Department of Justice will not appeal St. Johns ruling

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., August 13, 2008 – The U.S. Department of Justice, following extensive consultation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, decided Monday not to appeal the September 2007 decision by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia halting work on the St. Johns Bayou-New Madrid Floodway Project.
