Army Corps of Engineers Releases Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2023 Civil Works Appropriations

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) delivered to Congress its Fiscal Year 2023 (FY 2023) Work Plan for the Army Civil Works program Feb. 27, 2023. "The FY 2023 Work Plan for Army Civil Works continues the administration’s substantial investments in projects and actions that will strengthen supply chains and the economy by adding capacity at the nation’s waterways and ports, build resilience to the impacts of climate change by reducing flood risks of communities and restoring the aquatic environment, and promote equity in underserved communities consistent with the President’s Justice40 Initiative,” said Michael Connor, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works.

Hatchie-Loosahatchie Restoration Study public meeting scheduled for March 6, seeking public comment

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Memphis District (CEMVM), and their non-Federal Sponsor, the Lower Mississippi River Conservation Committee (LMRCC), scheduled a hybrid in-person/virtual public meeting for its Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Draft Environmental Assessment (DIFR-EA) of the Hatchie-Loosahatchie Mississippi River Ecosystem Restoration Study. The meeting will be 6 – 8 p.m., Mar. 6, 2023, at Ducks Unlimited Headquarters, One Waterfowl Way, Memphis.

USACE Memphis releases Draft Feasibility Report, Environmental Assessment for Hatchie-Loosahatchie Restoration Study, requests public comment

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Memphis District (CEMVM) released a Draft Integrated Feasibility Report and Draft Environmental Assessment (DIFR-EA) for the Hatchie-Loosahatchie Mississippi River Ecosystem Restoration Study to the general public, Feb. 10, 2023. The general public, interested parties, and stakeholders are invited to comment on the DIFR-EA.

Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to fund vital river ramp repair project

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District awarded Graylee Construction and Demolition from Ward, Arkansas, a contract to rehabilitate and repair the New Madrid City Front Boat Ramp located on the Mississippi River at approximately River Mile 889. The City of New Madrid, Missouri, and St. John's Levee and Drainage District are partners on this vital project.
