    MEMPHIS, Tenn., April 20, 2011 – For a second time this spring, the Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, has initiated a Phase I floodfight in the northern portion of their area of responsibility due to high Mississippi and Ohio River stages.

    Memphis, Tenn., March 24, 2011 -- The Mississippi River Commission (MRC) will conduct the Memphis District portion of its annual high-water inspection trip on the Mississippi River April 11-12, 2011.
  • Corps of Engineers returns to floodfight response Phase I level in northern areas

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 24, 2011 – With falling Ohio and Mississippi River levels, the Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lowered their floodfight activation level to Phase I in the Cairo (Illinois), Missouri (bootheel) and Reelfoot-Obion (Tennessee) areas at 1 a.m. on March 23.

The area of flooding is located in the northern portion of the Memphis District in and around Cairo, Ill, and New Madrid, Mo.
