Corps of Engineers gears-up for predicted Mississippi and Ohio River flooding

MEMPHIS, Tenn., March 8, 2011 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, initiated a Phase I floodfight at 10 a.m. on March 7 due to high Mississippi and Ohio River stages with increasing levels forecasted.

Corps of Engineers awards $9 million Grand Prairie contract

MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 17, 2010 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, today awarded a contract to construct the substructure for the Grand Prairie Pumping Station, located just east of De Valls Bluff, Ark., to Randy Kinder Excavating, Inc., of Dexter, Mo. The contract is valued at approximately $9 million.

Corps of Engineers to rededicate rebuilt Dredge Hurley

MEMPHIS, Tenn., May 28, 2010 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will rededicate their Dredge Hurley at a 1 p.m. ceremony on June 1, 2010. The rededication follows major work done on the vessel since last September.
