  • USACE schedules three Public Meetings for the Lower Mississippi River

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., July 16, 2013 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in conjunction with the Vicksburg and New Orleans Districts and other project partners, will hold three open house style public meetings on the Lower Mississippi River Resource Assessment (LMRRA).

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., July 9, 2013 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will hold a Change of Command ceremony July 12 at 10 a.m. at the Columns at One Commerce Square, 45 Second Street, Memphis. The public is invited to attend.

    VICKSBURG, MISS., June 26, 2013 – Brigadier General Anthony C. Funkhouser was officially appointed as a member of the Mississippi River Commission by President Barack Obama June 25, 2013.
  • Corps asks for public comments on Mississippi River study

    MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 5, 2013 – The Memphis District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, today released the Assessment of Information Needed for River Related Management, the first report authorized by the Lower Mississippi River Resource Assessment. This report will address gaps in current information related to sediment, water quality, data storage and availability, and tributary management.
  • Burcham becomes first female General Officer on the Mississippi River Commission

    VICKSBURG, MISS., June 5, 2013 – Brigadier General Margaret W. Burcham was officially appointed as a member of the Mississippi River Commission by President Barack Obama May 28, 2013. Burcham is the first female general officer to be appointed to the commission.
